MoMu celebrates Willy Vanderperre in latest exhibition

Highlighting his fascination with youth, MoMu explores the work by the Belgian photographer Willy Vanderperre, the first-ever solo exhibition by a fashion photographer at the gallery. In dialogue with his photographs, Vanderperre selected several artworks that have been an important source of inspiration in the ongoing development of his universe over the past three decades.

Consistent with his identification with youth and subcultures, Willy Vanderperre has developed an associated programme with film, music and the launch of his limited collectible items. Proceeds from sales will in part be donated to Çavaria, the Flemish advocacy group for LGBTI+ people. Çavaria is committed to the well-being, equal rights, and equal opportunities of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex individuals.

The overview of his photographic portfolio in WILLY VANDERPERRE prints, films, a rave and more... explores the evolution of his visual language, as well as the years of collaboration with stylist Olivier Rizzo and fashion designer Raf Simons. As guest curator, Vanderperre created an editorial journey of his photographic work, in collaboration with MoMu curator Romy Cockx.
