PFW: PRESSIAT SS24
For his SS24 collection, Vincent Pressiat revisits his classics, presenting them in a more polished wardrobe. The collection is composed for those looking for Parisian elegance with a sensual twist. His designs combine Pressiat's favorite periods, the 40s, 70s and 90s.
The bourgeoise Parisienne is his ideal. A femme fatal, diva, working girl and instinctively seduces. Her confidence gives her a daring allure, her PRESSIAT look designed as her protective armor. The non-gendered silhouettes for next-season are elongated and androgynous. The palette is muted in black and white, with hints of fuchsia and violet, adding glamour. The materials are slinky and transparent, made from the finest quality cotton by Supima. The collection offers plenty of tailoring, with oversized jackets and coats cinched at the waist and corsetry detailing in the back. They are made in wool and satin, paired with low-waist bootcut trousers, elasticated waisted casual pants and baggy shapes in silk, cotton and wool. A fanciful frayed treatment is given to the jeansgiving a feathery effect. The chic Trench and90s bomber come in satin and calf leather. We see asymmetric draping, plunging necklines and scarf like sleeves that can be twirledaround the neck. The PRESSIAT staples include the reversed tank top, transformable sweaters with clips and long soft romantic shirts for day or evening wear. The PRESSIAT wardrobe is completed with his cult fluid and elongated dresses. Playing with layering and proportion, these are pairing with jackets includingdramatic exaggerated shoulders. Shapes come in halter necks with deep scooped back, corseted lacing on the sides, asymmetric sleeves and slashed cut outs. Exquisite draping and slinky textiles of silk and crepe, and frayed jeans create an overall sleek effect.
Vincent Garnier Pressiat says: “I love a self-assured woman who is afraid of nothing, and I create clothing for her to bemost comfortable in so she can take on the world."
