MARTAN SS25

MARTAN - SS25 - Tempest Tides / Saner Karsen

MARTAN's offering for Spring/Summer 2025, titled Tempest Tides and designed by Diek Pothoven and Douwe de Boer, takes inspiration architectural silhouette of ships. 27 million kilos of high-quality bed linen and tablecloth are thrown away each year in Europe alone. Transforming the materials through dyeing the fabrics in beautiful colours, MARTAN specializes in giving this post-consumer waste a new life – the brands collections are entirely crafted from upcycled luxury hotel linen. Showcased at the Westergas building in Amsterdam, the SS25 collection features ropes rapped around the body, creating structure in dresses and tops; patterned embroidery typically found on classic weather charts used in sea sailing; and, inspired by Genoa sails, triangular forms, which spiral around the waist throughout the collection. The colour palette is influenced by stormy skies, sea algae green tones, navigation lights and deep orange sundowns.
