MFW: CALCATERRA SS24

Calcaterra’s spring/summer 2024 collection represents the essence of the brand – simplicity in form and a sophisticated and light interpretation of colour come together, skillfully combined by the designer reinterpretting and reworking archive designs. The palette is muted: botanical greens and white, different tones of browns, black and soft of greens. The material and the volumes are one of the highlights in this collection: hand embroidery is done with natural river pearls, washed feathers, transparencies and jacquards on which the concept of the jacket is perfectly exaggerated. A minimalist attitude increasingly focuses on the essential and — borrowing influences from the 80s and 90s — stylistically reiterates a “less is more” approach, made up of dramatically large squared shoulders, simple necklines, and exaggeratedly short jackets, while preserving purity, quality and a timeless aesthetic. Simplicity speaks the language of childhood:

I wanted to design this collection with the eyes of when I first fell in love with fashion. With my hands and pencil, I traced a new linearity and stylistic imprint, created as if from a child’s quick sketch.
