MFW: Dhruv Kapoor AW24

Dhruv Kapoor keeps re-establishing himself as the designer of the moment, managing to bring together urban luxe with modern influences, while also capturing the endless possibilities of the future.

Sport, utility, couture and tailoring seamlessly merge for AW24, exemplified by unconventional materials, eclectic colour combinations and unusual details. Traditional textiles are reimagined for enhanced structures, like in neo-suiting where neoprene is infused into sharp tailoring or in liquid lame biker jackets that look AI-generated. Embroidery and prints are also incorporated, as handcrafted weaves depict broken floral patterns and explore the intricacies of couture. Blokecore emerges as a powerful narrative, where sporting jerseys are made for anything but sport, and a recurring white unicorn motif becomes the mascot for the season — depicting fantasy, magic and a combination of male and female energy. The hybridisation of fashion really comes alive in silhouettes that take on multiple configurations — exclusively and in tandem—including giant and petite, cropped and extra-long, fitted and louche, vibrant and dull. The clincher of this collection remains the KPR Vault, a capsule that brings back archival pieces in new form to celebrate Dhruv Kapoor completing 10 years. The runway designed as a running track only reiterates that there’s no looking back.
