Sharp 'horns' are wrapped around the body by thin binding tape. The pointy ornaments create a visual illusion that its softness can only be found when looking close enough. Rui Zhou chose a minimastic colour palette, consisting of black, white and earthy tones with hints of blue and red. Poetic in the way the fabric touches the skin, the pearl detailing is perfectly matched and placed on the cut-out fabric. RUI explores the duality of all things, finding beauty in the imperfection, the unfunished, broken and unloved. The shoftness and careful fragility of its compositions reveal strength in its delicacy. Its Spring 2024 collection is no different, visualizing both closeness and aggression towards the outside world.
