PFW: SITUATIONIST SS24

"The title 'Making of Husbands' was inspired by my visit to the exhibition of the same name, featuring Christina Ramberg's work. This exhibition paid homage to Ramberg and referenced one of my all-time favorite films, 'Husbands' by John Cassavetes. At the age of 14, this movie marked the beginning of my journey into questioning traditional gender roles, so I embarked on creating a collection that would incorporate all of these references and place it in the context of Georgia - the society I come from," says Irakli Rusadze, the creative director of Situationist.

Deeply rooted in the brand's DNA, SITUATIONIST showcases genderless silhouettes for SS24. Comfort is central, classic suits and coats follow a traditional tailoring process and hand-knitted pieces feature unique techniques. Key element in the collection is a tulip, symbolising Georgian resistance towards Russia and are in remembrance of the Tbilisi Massacre in 1989. Jewellery features the hammered "Chikanka" female figures, commonly used in Soviet Georgian interior decor.
