Stillness and movement; craftmanship, creativity and conscious design – Tess van Zalinge's 'momentum', showcased at studio3000, immersed the audience into the way of working of her studio. Dressers were adding the final details to the looks, make-up artists were applying the finishing touches, and hair stylists were perfecting every strand. Hums of sewing machines, hisses of steamers and clicks of zippers, composed by Tamara van Laarsre, echoed the creative process and brought the thoughful spectacle beautifully together.

Tess van Zalinge's designs merge couture and ready-to-wear, creating luxury design with functionality and sensual style. The designer founded her eponymous label in 2016, to make couture more accessible and conscious. 'momentum' is created by deadstock fabrics, which were provided by Atelier Munro. Old suits were deconstruced, the inner constructions became the foundation for embroidery techniques, giving the garments new life. Returned suitcased by sustainable luggage brand NORTVI were deconstructed and made into couture designs. The SS25 collection also sees the introduction of men's couture in the collection.

Presenting all 24 looks of ‘momentum’ in its most extensive and ambitious form has been an extraordinary experience,” said Tess van Zalinge. “By inviting the audience through our backstage, we created a unique interplay of intimacy and showcase that truly embodies the essence of this collection.
